Till I Lose You

Guys this is going to be my first long story. It would be in chapterwise format. I have written the first chapter and would soon write the next chapters. Till I Lose You The To Be Eleventh Letter The sun was shining a bit brighter today. The grass was a bit greener. I was more excited and anxious today than I usually am and I think it was my excitement that has transcended to the nature. The love in my heart has finally found a way out into the nature, scaled itself multiple times and have came back to me, only and only me. Today I would receive her reply. No matter what it would be, I don’t know whether she would have said yes or no, but I really hope she would have said yes, I really really hope so. I think this is what happens with people when they are in love, their first love,my first love. The thoughts I had, have, they are all incoherent, none of this makes any sense, yet it is the most sensible thing in the whole worl...

TEST CASE

In life people suffer, and some suffer more than the rest. I tried to reason out why some of us suffer more than other and had an interesting result, So after experimenting with articles and poetry, I have experimented with short story. This is my short story, please do share your opinion about it. so presenting to you,
The  TEST CASE.

TEST CASE
Back in the Eighties, which some say are the golden times, at the 7th street in London Suburb, there lived a doctor quite famous and a decorated one. Apart from being a regular practitioner, he was also a professor of surgery in University College.

In the doctor’s lab there was a mannequin quite different from the rest. It was lively and beautiful though withered and stitched, not like the rest of the lot in the lab. It’s eye spoke of the golden time he must have seen in the time he would have been alive, but the rest of his body spoke of the thousand of tortures and failed medicines and wounds he had undergone at the doctor’s hand after the Supreme One decided to take away his life.

It was the doctor’s custom to test every vaccine, every medicine and every procedure on the same mannequin before administering them to the patient’s because though he was dead still he responded the best.

He had saved countless lives by taking all the bad and failures of doctor upon himself. All the rest of the doctors said, he was the best and something like this can never be again find.
A new batch of students came under doctor’s hand, with all the stern and rigid faces and smiles nowhere to be seen. Only one student stood apart from the rest not because he was most talented of all but he was rather sweet and young and his will to continue unmistakably made him simply the best.

He looked handsome and charming at the sight but refused to talk to anyone who came to his side, thus our little hero had no friends and no answers given in the class too. He was always in his world and thus became a mystery man in everyone’s eye.

His grades were good but class participation was nil, the doctor ignored his behavior the time he could. Everyone thought he was rude but the experienced eyes of the doctor took notice of something that everyone else failed , his eyes and his smile spoke of two different world miles apart.
Though it was hard to find, the sign of sorrow in his beaming eyes but the past three decades of experience enable the doctor to read people’s eyes and mind.

He noticed his smile spoke of all the beautiful and loving moments of his life but his eyes radiated sorrow and miseries hard to find, as though monsters had tortured the beautiful soul till the time infinite.

The doctor, a kind soul, depressed at the sight of slight sufferings of his patients couldn’t withhold the man in front of him with sea of miseries and that too his student.

The doctor decided to help and invited the class to his lab. His Lab, an epitome of surreality for them in the field of medical science.

He introduced them to his mate, the TEST CASE who has taken all his failures and withstood all the tortures he inflicted on once alive poor soul.

Everyone came around and examined him for a while and got back to other instruments and dead bodies (which I have called mannequin because like a mannequin who are representation of Beings, rather Human beings quite alive but are dead in the reality these dead bodies serves as though they are human being alive for the purpose of testing but are dead actually) in the lab and then set to leave.
As everyone was leaving the doctor our little hero and told the rest of the class to continue in their rooms.

The Doctor said and I quote,
Nobody asked though I have so many other mannequins, still I perform all the experiments on that particular ones, only he is my test case , why? ”

Our little hero looked at the wounds of the test case and has started to relate, and hence became curious to know why only he was the only one with those wounds and not his mates.(THING TO PONDER: whom are we talking about in this particular line the mannequin or the student)
He remained silent and didn’t replied, the trained eyes of doctor set to work and had noticed what had undergone in the heart of our little hero.

The doctor continued,
It is because only he could have taken all those wounds and still be the same. He took my multiple failures, my failed medicines and I tested the limits with him, how much a human can take before being broken or on being on the verge of extinction, he helped me set the limits to the wounds I can inflict on others and he was my test case simply because he was the best and could have still smiled if he would have been alive and had prepared himself for another round of hell, though now he know none of it, his miseries are medicine to the rest of the world.”

Something eased off in our heroes eyes. He still didn’t spoke a word and took the doctor’s leave but the doctor knew his initial work was done, the patient’s treatment had begun, though the way was long for complete recovery but the beginning was good and doctor left the way ahead to the by time discovery.

Actually our little hero had fallen into some strange but curious chain of thoughts and realized,
“He was nothing but the TEST CASE in someone else’s Lab.”
